We have deliberately built MakersDrop to need very little about you.
We hold your email address, because it is how you sign in and how we send you receipts, sign-in codes, and notices about the apps you own. We hold a record of what you have bought — the app, the version, the price, the date, and any licence key issued to you — because that is what entitles you to your downloads and updates. If you sell, we additionally hold the profile you choose to publish (your display name, bio, location, links, avatar) and the payout details we need to pay you.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment is handled by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record and takes your payment details directly. We receive back only the fact of the payment, its amount, and the country used to calculate tax.
Our servers keep short-lived technical logs — IP address, the page requested, timestamp, browser — which we use to keep the service running and secure, and which we delete on a rolling basis. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your data to anybody, ever.
We set one cookie: the one that keeps you signed in after you enter your sign-in code. It is strictly necessary for the service to work, so it does not require consent. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. Clearing it signs you out.
We process your email address and purchase history because we need them to perform the contract between us — you cannot have a library of apps without a record of what you bought. We keep records of sales, refunds, and payouts because we are under a legal obligation to. We keep security logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a service that is not being attacked or defrauded. Where we ask for consent — for the newsletter — you may withdraw it at any time, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

Our infrastructure is hosted in the European Union. Where a provider processes data outside the EU or Andorra, that transfer is covered by the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We keep your account and purchase records for as long as you have an account, because they are what give you access to what you paid for. When you close your account we delete your personal data, except the transaction records we are legally required to retain for accounting and tax purposes. Technical logs are deleted on a rolling short-term basis.
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you; to correct it if it is wrong; to delete it; to restrict or object to how we use it; and to receive it in a portable form. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email hello@makersdrop.com and we will respond within 30 days, free of charge.
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — we would like the chance to fix it. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority, or to the Andorran Data Protection Agency (APDA).
MakersDrop is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and its date, and tell you by email if the change is material.
